Description
Features: The full body harness is perhaps the most common piece of equipment in the fall-protection industry. When using personal fall protection equipment,wear a full body harness if youare at risk of falling. A full body harness consists of straps passed over the shoulders, across the chest, and around the legs. When properly used, the full body harness design contains the human torso and aides in keeping it upright during a fall event. D-rings are used to ensure that your body stays upright in the event of a fall. Only a dorsal or chest d-ring should be used to tie off to an anchor point. Side D-rings should only be used for positioning. The application or use of the harness is determined by the location and number of D Rings on the harness. Lanyard and a full-body harness, first adds the length of the shock-absorbing lanyard [6 ft. (1.8m)] to the maximum elongation of the shock absorber during deceleration [3-1/2 ft. (1.1m)] to the height of a worker [6 ft. (1.8m) average].
