- Ascenders lock automatically when tension is applied in the downward 'direction'. Rope allow to slip freely when force is applied to the ascender in the 'upward' direction
- 4 kN applied 5 times in succession without visual evidence of damage to device or rope
- Rope does not detach from the rope clamp at the force of at least 400 N. no damage occurred to rope clamp after load applied
- Rope does not detach from the rope clamp at the force of at least 2000 N. no damage occurred to rope or rope clamp after load applied
