Evo-Stik Weatherproof Roof & Gutter Sealant is a highly flexible, rubberised sealant that will provide a long-lasting seal for plastic guttering and roofs. It’s easy to apply, even in wet conditions, and is suitable for emergency repairs. With waterproofing that’s guaranteed for up to 10 years, it’s ideal for sealing gaps around flashing, between roof panels and tiles, and around fascia boards. It has excellent adhesion to most surfaces and can be used in direct contact with asphalt and bituminous roofing materials.
Preparation:
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from oil, grease and any other contamination
Loose surface material should be removed by brushing to leave a sound surface
If used between bolted sections take care to see that the tightening of bolts does not squeeze out all of the sealant; use washers if necessary
Application:
Unscrew the nozzle, and using a sharp knife, carefully cut off the dome of the cartridge, taking care not to damage the thread. Screw the nozzle onto the cartridge
Cut off the tapered end of the nozzle at a 45 degree angle, to a width matching the gap to be sealed
Fit the cartridge into the cartridge gun by pressing the release plate and pulling out the plunger. Insert cartridge and repeatedly squeeze the trigger until the sealant appears
Place the nozzle at the start of the gap, and gently squeeze the trigger. Push forward slowly, ensuring that contact is made by the sealant with both sides of the gap. At the end of the run, release the trigger and press the plunger release plate of the gun
The sealant must be gunned firmly into the joints to ensure good adhesion to the joint surfaces
After use, replace the cap provided to prevent the sealant from setting inside the cartridge- Easy to apply, even it wet conditions
